An established construction consultancy in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its growing team. The successful Senior Project Manager will deliver healthcare, residential and education projects across Birmingham and the wider Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to lead varied commissions within a supportive and professional environment.

The Senior Project Manager will take responsibility for projects from initial brief through to completion, acting as the main contact for clients and project teams. The successful Senior Project Manager will manage programmes, risks, consultants and contractors while maintaining high standards of service. This position would suit a confident Senior Project Manager who can lead projects independently and support junior colleagues.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Senior Project Manager's role

The Senior Project Manager will oversee healthcare, residential and education projects throughout the full construction lifecycle.

Responsibilities will include preparing project execution plans, developing programmes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing procurement activity. The Senior Project Manager will chair client and progress meetings, monitor risks, manage change and produce clear project reports.

The role will involve maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors while ensuring projects are delivered in line with agreed cost, quality and programme requirements. The successful candidate will also mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Managers, review their work and help maintain consistent delivery standards across the team.

The Senior Project Manager

The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

Significant project management experience within a construction consultancy
Experience delivering healthcare, residential or education projects
A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or another relevant construction discipline
MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or progress towards a relevant professional qualification
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and project controls
Excellent client-facing, leadership and communication skills
The ability to manage several projects and multidisciplinary teams
A proactive, organised and commercially aware approach
