Senior Project Manager

Description:

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager on a 12-month Contract, located in the Manchester.

Looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join its renewable project delivery team in Manchester. You will take charge of the transmission equipment on major grid connection projects: the high voltage kit that moves clean power safely from where it is generated to where it is needed. The Grid Technology Solutions team works on Grid Access and HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) projects, mainly offshore wind farms and interconnectors in the UK and overseas.

What you will be doing

* Owning delivery of the transmission equipment scope, keeping it on budget (or better), on schedule, and to the required standards for safety, quality and performance

* Bringing the design, testing and manufacturing teams together to produce a reliable electrical design, drawings and hardware

* Managing site installation, cabling and commissioning

* Preparing offers and tenders, including scope, costs, schedules, resources, risks and opportunities

* Managing subcontractors and their work packages

* Reporting on progress and running design and process reviews through to project completion

* Reporting to your Project Manager / Director

Where you will work:

This changes with the project stage. Mostly office-based during design, travelling to suppliers and customers during procurement, and mostly on-site during installation.
