Description:
Our client NATS is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team on a contract basis.
- Due to the nature of the role, applicants must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years and be willing to obtain SC Clearance.
- Hybrid working, 1-2 days a week onsite in Fareham, Hampshire.
- 12 month initial contract.
- £500-£550 p/d Umbrella, inside IR35
Key Responsibilities:
Effectively lead the delivery of programmes/projects and support business activities within the Programme Delivery Division as per the Project Brief/Programme Blueprint.
Create and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, staff, trade unions, suppliers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Plan, budget, report, execute, and deliver programmes/projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specification, preparing staff and business areas for new ways of working.
Support Programme Delivery Practice tasks as required.
Approve and authorise expenditure on projects within the budget for projects within their span of control.
Create and let Work Packages, identifying and agreeing on project responsibilities with Work Package Managers.
Make appropriate decisions in relation to the management and execution of programmes/projects and direct remedial action as required to ensure successful delivery.
Liaise and communicate effectively with customers and suppliers to deliver tactical and strategic objectives for programmes/projects.
Job Requirements:
Experience in effective project management within the Defence & Security and Aerospace sectors.
Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in planning, budgeting, reporting, executing, and delivering programmes/projects.
Autonomy in decision-making and project expenditure management.
Experience in creating and managing Work Packages and identifying project responsibilities.
Ability to make decisions and execute remedial actions to ensure project delivery success.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially with leadership teams and project teams across various departments.
Job Scope:
Delivery of all programme/project activities to the customer in accordance with relevant management systems, processes, and regulations.
Ensure supporting information is valid and robust to support each project's business case.
Develop and maintain work breakdown structures, budget management, and robust risk identification and mitigation actions.
Support negotiation and contract award for suppliers' contracts in collaboration with various departments like Commercial, Supply Chain, and Legal.
Lead and manage Work Package Managers to deliver milestones on time, within cost, and to quality standards.
Ensure required standards and behaviours are met across all areas.
Promote understanding and engagement through effective, formal, and informal communication of key messages.
Provide project management expertise and leadership for strategic and tactical elements across all programmes/projects.
