My client requires the expertise of a Senior Project Accountant / Finance Business Partner to help support its consultancy business ensure project costs are controlled and profitable on work they have currently and for future work won via MoD Frameworks / Tenders within Defence and Aerospace domains. You must be a CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent qualified to apply.
You will be responsible for overseeing major frameworks / projects within the division and taking the lead on financial compliance and regulatory reporting requirements across the division. Your main role will be to oversee the projects ensuring that all costs attributed to the delivery of all contracts.
The role will focus on operational accounting activities for Joint Operations, Single source frameworks and major frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulations, preparing and reviewing bids from a financial perspective, reporting both internal and externally. The role will work closely with the client, delivery and operational managers to ensure robust accounting procedures are in place.
The role reports directly to the Financial Controller.
????This is a hybrid role with 2 days on site per week.
Skills & Background required;

The Key Responsibilities of a Project Accountant:
* Operational & Financial accounting with regards to Joint Operation, single source frameworks and Major projects.
* Ensuring that all costs attributed to the delivery of all contracts are captured accurately in the financial management toolsets.
* Working with the Client Managers advising on strategic bids and helping to make decisions around growth areas.
* Pricing and bid support to Project Managers & Directors, including the overseeing the creation and integrity of bid models.
* Undertake deep dive project review on an Ad hoc basis to ensure compliance with group policies.
* Responsibility for Research & Development tax credit reporting, PSA reporting and Audit co-ordination.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Project Accountant role, however you will not be expected to have everything:
* A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with post qualified experience
* Business partnering experience.
* Knowledge of Single source regulations and reporting requirements will be advantageous.
* Knowledge of our client’s finance processes; standards and systems will be advantageous.
* Well-developed commercial knowledge and business understanding.
* Strong technical accounting skills & knowledge.
* Good Excel skills.
* Broad understanding of tax and compliance matters.
* Well-developed communication and influencing skills.
* Attention to detail whilst still being able to work at a tactical level.
