Description:
Our client, a prominent consultancy in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Leeds or Newcastle. This role includes secondments into Stantec and involves working on both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects under the IR35 regime.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and delivering civil engineering projects within the water sector, including both infrastructure and non-infrastructure works
Providing technical expertise and overseeing project teams to ensure high-quality project delivery
Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, including secondments into Stantec
Preparing and reviewing technical reports, designs, and specifications
Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively
Mentoring and developing junior engineers within the team
Maintaining strong client relationships through effective communication and project management
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in civil engineering, preferably within the water sector
Strong technical knowledge and experience in both infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects
Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools
Excellent project management and organisational skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
Understanding of IR35 regulations and their implications on contract work
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
