Role: Senior Pricing, Procurement & Logistics Manager

Location: Dundee based but hybrid, 2-3 days a week in the office

Remote work: hybrid, 2-3 days a week in the office

The Senior Pricing, Procurement & Logistics Manager is responsible for organising the global purchase, storage and distribution of goods in the business. This is a key role which is responsible for effectively managing supplier and customer expectations and for sourcing new suppliers whilst maintaining positive relations with existing suppliers. The role is responsible for ensuring that orders are processed smoothly, that rental stock and assets are tracked and monitored, and that stock availability always meets demand. You will also be responsible for providing efficient supply chain support to our R&D projects.

Responsibilities of the role

Pricing/Trading:

Work with sales teams to establish sales prospect checklist, process and establish product catalogue, with clear pricing parameters for each product
Prepare deal sheets for each new business opportunity and escalate to C-Suite if proposed sales pricing levels fall outside agreed tolerances

Procurement:

Manage product sourcing and new supplier selection in a timely manner, demonstrating best value at all times.
Ensure that appropriate and accurate supply agreements are in place, and regularly updated. Monitor the due diligence of supply agreements.
Monitor business trends and product availability to negotiate best price for company goods and services, without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
Issue purchase orders and track procurement process to receipt and payment of goods.
Liaise with other managers to ensure that specifications are maintained, and that procurement is accurate and specific to requirements.
Undertake cost analysis and cost reduction activities: review all parts/stock, analysis of current vendors, recommendations on alternative suppliers, setting up of new contracts.
Display strong Supplier Relationship Management skills, ensuring quality of goods and continuity of supply.

Supply Chain:

Manage all aspects of supply chain activities, ensuring the delivery of value-added service to the business.
Manage the successful fulfilment of customer orders, delivering to the right place at the right time.
Provide supply chain support for R&D projects, liaising with other senior managers as necessary to meet business requirements.
Accurately maintain the rental stock asset register in terms of location, condition, value and availability.
Manage the flow of inventory and bill of materials required for production.
Manage the implementation of our inventory and asset management system to improve accuracy of stock information as well as delivering improved reporting to the wider business.
Resolve customer, contractor and supplier issues related to supply chain, in a timely manner, implementing action to prevent repetition of issues.
Assign part numbers and product categories to all newly sourced items to add into the inventory system, to allow for accurate stock forecasting and requirements planning.

Logistics:

Manage the logistics process, including shipment, delivery and product returns.
Obtain shipping quotations and advise the Sales team of timelines and cost estimates, calculating landed costs to the delivery location.
Manage national and international shipping, ensuring that shipping documentation and commercial invoices are administered accurately and in a timely manner.
Manage the warehouse operation, ensuring that stock is appropriately received, stored and catalogued.
Accurately track stock and rental assets, resolving delays and other issues. Taking proactive, preventative action where necessary.

Management and Development of Team:

Manage the Supply Chain & Logistics team appropriately, ensuring the delivery of relevant strategies and processes, through the team.
Take responsibility for personal development of the team to ensure that their performance is optimised.
Demonstrate a full understanding of the roles within the team to be able to deal with any obstacles to avoid any detriment.
Devote appropriate time to development, training or coaching of staff and provide structured feedback to staff at appropriate times.
Be aware of current capabilities and performance of staff and maximise opportunities for staff to aspire to.
Keep up to date with Health & Safety procedures to maintain the security and safety of staff.

Experience & Skills:

Relevant business degree preferred.
Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or willingness to work towards CIPS qualification.
Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills & attention to detail.
Leadership skills to successfully supervise and develop a team of direct reports
In-depth knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown.
Experience of working closely with suppliers to negotiate best value.
Advanced experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience of other logistics and/or financial software may also be beneficial.
