Senior Pricing Analyst

Location: Manchester - 1 day per month in the office

Salary: £70-85,000

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Senior Pricing Analyst to join a growing Pricing & Analytics team and play a key role in driving profitable growth across a range of UK Commercial Insurance products.

Reporting directly to the Head of Pricing, you'll be responsible for developing and enhancing pricing models, analysing complex datasets and turning insight into commercially focused pricing and underwriting recommendations.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys getting beyond the numbers - understanding what is driving portfolio performance, challenging assumptions and using data to influence real commercial decisions.

The business is entrepreneurial, agile and focused on making a positive impact across the UK Commercial Insurance market, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution as the pricing function continues to evolve.

What will you be doing?

Developing, refining and validating pricing models across commercial insurance products
Analysing large and complex datasets to identify trends, loss drivers and opportunities to improve profitability
Supporting pricing strategy through rate reviews, segmentation and scenario modelling
Producing pricing MI, analysis and recommendations for senior stakeholders
Supporting junior analysts through coaching, technical review and knowledge sharing
Continuously improving pricing methodologies, analytical capabilities and ways of working
You'll also be expected to maintain high analytical and development standards, with a focus on robust testing and validation, clear documentation, version control and producing maintainable, reusable code.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with strong experience in insurance pricing and analytics, ideally within Financial Lines or Property & Casualty, alongside a strong commercial mindset.

You'll ideally bring:

Significant experience in pricing and analytics within the UK insurance market
A strong understanding of commercial insurance, including the policy lifecycle, insurer/intermediary value chain and key performance metrics
Experience developing robust pricing models using large and complex datasets
Advanced Python, SQL and Excel skills, alongside experience with R, SAS or similar analytical tools
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
The confidence to challenge assumptions constructively and influence decisions
A proactive, collaborative approach and a continuous improvement mindset
Experience with pricing platforms, model deployment or rating systems would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

What's on offer?

30 days' annual leave
Pension
Private medical insurance and Life assurance
Income protection insurance

If you're an experienced Pricing Analyst looking for a role where your analysis can directly influence commercial strategy, we'd love to hear from you
