Senior Practitioner – Adults Safeguarding Team
Thurrock Council
£31.96 per Hour Umbrella | Full-Time Locum | Hybrid Working | ASAP Start

SW Locums are recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner – Adults to join the Adults Safeguarding Team at Thurrock Council. This is an excellent full-time locum opportunity for an advanced Adult Social Worker looking to make an immediate impact within a busy and supportive safeguarding service.

The role is available on an ASAP start, offering an initial 3-month contract with the potential for extension.

The Role
As a Senior Practitioner within the Adults Safeguarding Team, you will work with adults who have been referred due to safeguarding concerns. This is a hands-on position requiring a confident and experienced practitioner who can manage complex safeguarding work independently while supporting high standards of practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

Responding to safeguarding referrals involving vulnerable adults

*

Covering emergency safeguarding duty visits

*

Completing initial information gathering and signposting where appropriate

*

Undertaking Section 42 safeguarding enquiries

*

Participating in safeguarding strategy meetings

*

Managing complex safeguarding cases in line with statutory duties and best practice

*

Working collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for service users

Requirements

*

Minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience within Adult Social Care

*

Advanced Adult Social Work experience with a strong safeguarding background

*

Social Work qualification (BA, MA, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent)

*

Current Social Work England registration

*

Enhanced DBS

*

Excellent knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and adult safeguarding legislation

*

Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multi-agency team
