The successful candidate will take ownership of the delivery of key strategic priorities across the UK operation, ensuring projects are delivered effectively, on time and in line with business transformation objectives. The initial focus will be the implementation of a future-fit operating plan for the UK traffic and transport business, with wider responsibility for identifying opportunities to improve operational and commercial excellence across the organisation.

This role offers the opportunity to play a central part in shaping business direction, driving meaningful change and making a tangible impact on operational performance within the traffic and transport sector.

Key responsibilities

Develop and execute project plans aligned to quarterly strategic priorities, covering initiation, delivery, completion and aftercare.

Lead the implementation of a future-fit operating plan for UK traffic and transport operations.

Work closely with senior stakeholders to align decisions, manage expectations and ensure strong communication across the business.

Provide regular updates on progress, risks, obstacles and results to the Managing Director and executive team.

Manage project budgets and allocate people and resources effectively to ensure successful delivery.

Identify and deliver opportunities for improvement, efficiency, digitalisation, automation and innovation within traffic management and transport systems.

Support the wider business in embedding change, operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

Strong PMO or project management leadership experience, ideally within the traffic, transport, infrastructure or related sectors.

Proven track record of delivering complex, strategic initiatives in a fast-paced business environment.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and coordinate across functions.

Confident decision-maker with a structured and organised approach.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and delegate effectively.

Strategic thinker with a practical, delivery-focused mindset.

Experience of improving systems, processes, operations or ways of working within a traffic or transport context would be highly beneficial.

Personal attributes

Highly organised, commercially aware and results-driven.

Proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable working with senior leadership.

Able to manage multiple priorities without compromising quality or deadlines.

Analytical, collaborative and able to bring clarity to complexity.

Passionate about driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What’s on offer

A high-visibility role with direct access to senior leadership.

The opportunity to influence strategic outcomes and drive meaningful change.

A chance to make a tangible impact on operational performance within the traffic and transport sector.

Competitive salary and benefits package (details to be discussed).

Professional development and career progression opportunities.
