Senior Planning Officer – Enforcement
Walsall (Hybrid Working)
3-Month Contract
Full Time \| Monday to Friday
2 Days Per Week in Office
£35.94 per hour
Lynx Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Planning Officer – Enforcement to join a busy Local Authority team in Walsall on a hybrid basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled planning professional with strong enforcement experience to play a key role in managing complex planning enforcement matters and supporting the wider planning service.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate and manage a varied caseload of planning enforcement complaints and breaches
Prepare and serve enforcement notices, breach of condition notices, and related legal documentation
Conduct site visits and gather evidence to support enforcement action
Liaise with residents, developers, councillors, solicitors, and external agencies
Provide professional planning advice and recommendations
Represent the Council at appeals, hearings, and public inquiries where required
Support junior officers and contribute to service improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Degree in Planning or a related field
Previous experience working within Planning Enforcement in a Local Authority setting
Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and enforcement procedures
Ability to manage complex caseloads independently
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
