We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Westhill, Aberdeenshire on a permanent basis.
Duties:
As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the planning, scheduling, and coordination of projects within the Oil and Gas sector. Working closely with project teams, you will develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and identify opportunities to optimize project timelines and resource utilization. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and proactive approach will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of projects and the achievement of project objectives.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Scheduling:
* Develop detailed project schedules using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) in collaboration with project teams.
* Define project milestones, deliverables, and critical paths to ensure alignment with project objectives and client requirements.
Resource Allocation and Optimisation:
* Assist in the allocation and optimisation of project resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to support project objectives and timelines.
* Conduct resource analysis and forecasting to identify potential resource constraints and propose solutions to mitigate risks.
Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
* Implement robust progress monitoring systems to track project performance against planned schedules, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Generate regular progress reports for project stakeholders, highlighting achievements, deviations, and areas for improvement.
* Monitor and evaluate risk factors that may impact project schedules and budgets, proposing timely interventions to minimise disruptions
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
* Proven experience as a Project Planner or Project Controls Engineer, preferably within the Oil and Gas sector.
* Experience with project management software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
* Strong understanding of project management principles, scheduling techniques, and risk management practices.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
