Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Programmer / Planner to support major rail infrastructure projects in Ireland alongside fast-paced data centre developments across Europe. This is a senior-level position suited to a highly organised planning professional with strong construction programming expertise and the ability to operate across multiple complex projects and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, managing, and monitoring project programmes from pre-construction through delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements.

The role may suit someone based in the UK who can commute weekly to Ireland, or an individual willing to relocate to Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.

Produce baseline programmes, progress updates, critical path analysis, and recovery programmes.

Coordinate planning activities across rail infrastructure and data centre projects.

Work closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure programme alignment.

Monitor project progress and identify risks, delays, and mitigation strategies.

Support tender planning and pre-construction scheduling activities.

Prepare planning reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and clients.

Assist with resource planning, sequencing of works, and logistics coordination.

Ensure compliance with client, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience in a Senior Planner or Programmer role within construction or infrastructure projects.

Strong background in rail, civil engineering, infrastructure, or mission-critical/data centre environments.

Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (preferred) and Microsoft Project.

Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and project controls.

Ability to manage multiple projects across different locations.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred.

Flexibility to travel within Ireland and across Europe as required.

Desirable Experience

Experience working on Railtrack / railway infrastructure projects in Ireland or the UK.

Data centre project delivery experience within Europe.

Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or similar contract frameworks.

Experience in fast-track or live operational environments.
