The Company

A regional main construction contractor with up to 40 years in the industry, as a business they have an extensive order book generating a turnover in excess of £100m. Portfolio and order book spanning the UK which has allowed them to become a market leader in the construction industry. They hold a proven track record of delivering award-winning developments for a variety of clients within Public Sector, Residential & Leisure.

The Project

As an experienced Senior Planner based in West Yorkshire, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing planning and scheduling on a number of projects across a wide range of sectors, including residential, leisure, commercial & retail sectors with build values in excess of £80m. With your expertise in planning software and methodologies, you will lead the development of detailed project schedules, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely delivery of projects. Your input will play a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of projects, contributing to the growth and success of the organisation.

Requirements

It is essential that you hold the experience below;

A demonstrated track record of working on new build/refurbishment projects with build values in excess of £25m in a comparable role
A proven track record of delivering high quality plans and schedules on projects that were successfully delivered on time and within budget
Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working with tier 1 or tier 2 leading construction contractors in a Senior / Planner position
Good working knowledge of and experienced in the use of Primavera P6 / Asta / MS ProjectsAdditional skills;

Strategic and analytical thinking
Capability to conduct successful negotiations
Clear communication abilities combined with a keen eye for detail
Capacity to adjust to changes and amend project plans as required
Solid understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices
Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methodologies
Competent in utilizing planning software and methodologies to develop elaborate project schedules
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders

Direct and guide planning teams
Engage in strategic decision-making
Procure essential permits and approvals
Perform routine quality audits and assessments
Develop project budgets and oversee expenditures
Maintain and oversee relationships with stakeholders
Creation of precise and thorough project documentation
Oversee the planning process from initiation to completion
Implement efficient measures to maintain project progress
Execute risk management strategies to address unexpected obstacles
Address client concerns and ensure satisfaction with project deliverables
Establish and sustain positive client relationships, communicating regularly
Ensure projects align with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Track and oversee project schedules to guarantee compliance with deadlines
Handle and resolve project issues as they emerge throughout the project lifecycle
Create and deliver routine reports on project advancement, challenges, and results
Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate and manage them effectively
Create thorough project schedules, taking into account critical milestones and dependencies
Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans for the organization or specific projects
Utilize project management tools and technologies to improve planning and coordination processes
Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, encompassing clients, team members, and regulatory authorities
