Senior Planning Policy Officer
To assist the Planning Policy Team with preparation of a draft Plan Regulation 18 document. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading on the production of in house evidence including review of Local Green Spaces, Settlement Confines and Gypsy and Traveller need. The candidate should also be able to contribute to finalization of the Councils HELAA, be able to carry out some site allocation policy writing and assist in the preparation of the draft Plan document. The role will be hybrid with the requirement to come into the office once a week to attend team meetings and where required meetings with members.
Job specification:
Assist and where appropriate lead in the preparation of planning policies and strategies to inform Local Plan Review, including the review of current planning policy, conducting site surveys and investigations, commissioning consultants and leading on engagement activities.
Assist and where appropriate lead in the preparation of planning policy advice; development briefs and supplementary planning documents, including urban and rural design and heritage policies and proposals.
Liaise with other sections within the service and our client to provide information and assistance as required. Respond to requests for information and assistance and participate in discussions as appropriate. Provide information and advice on planning matters to members of the general public, elected members and other stakeholders.
Prepare and present our clients case at appeals, inquiries, hearings and Examinations in Public commensurate to grade; prepare and present reports to committees as required
