Description:

Senior Payroll Officer

£45,000 | Hybrid | Multi-Site Organisation

We are exclusively partnering with a growing, multi-site organisation to recruit a Senior Payroll Officer to join their established finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop towards a Payroll Manager position.

You will take ownership of the payroll process for a workforce of approximately (Apply online only) employees, with headcount expected to continue increasing. Working closely with the wider finance and HR teams, you will ensure payroll is processed accurately and efficiently while helping to develop and improve processes as the organisation grows.

The Role

Full responsibility for the end-to-end monthly payroll process
Managing payroll for approximately (Apply online only) employees across multiple sites
Processing payroll accurately and within strict deadlines
Using Sage Payroll to manage and process payroll
Ensuring compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory requirements
Managing starters, leavers, changes, deductions and adjustments
Completing payroll reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
Responding to payroll queries from employees and internal stakeholders
Working closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll information is accurate
Supporting the development and improvement of payroll processes
Helping to develop the payroll function as the workforce continues to grow

About You

We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who is confident managing a sizeable workforce and comfortable taking ownership of the payroll process.

You will ideally have:

Strong end-to-end payroll experience
Experience processing payroll for 300+ employees
Sage Payroll experience
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirements
Excellent attention to detail
The confidence to work independently and take ownership
Strong communication and organisational skills
A genuine interest in progressing into payroll management

Progression

This role has been created with progression firmly in mind. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their responsibilities organically as the organisation grows, with the long-term plan being to progress into a Payroll Manager position.

As the workforce increases, so will the scope and responsibility of the role, giving you the opportunity to shape and grow the payroll function rather than simply stepping into an established management position.

What's on Offer

Salary up to £45,000
Hybrid working - 1 day working from home per week
Multi-site organisation
Growing workforce and payroll function
Clear progression towards Payroll Manager
Opportunity to take ownership and develop the role organically
