Senior Payroll Advisor
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 + benefits
Location: Romford
Contract: 6-month FTC
Hybrid: 1 day office / 4 days home
The Role
An opportunity for an experienced client payroll professional to manage a portfolio of complex, high-frequency payrolls within an established professional services environment.
This is a senior, client-facing position where you’ll manage payroll delivery, resolve technical queries and act as a trusted point of contact for clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end weekly, monthly and annual client payrolls.
* Handle complex payrolls including benefits, share schemes, pensions and international assignments.
* Manage RTI submissions, HMRC correspondence and year-end processes.
* Administer auto-enrolment and complex pension arrangements.
* Advise clients on payroll legislation, statutory payments and holiday pay.
* Support new client onboarding, system implementations and parallel runs.
* Resolve complex payroll queries and provide technical guidance.
* Support and mentor junior payroll colleagues.
Ideal Candidate
* Recent payroll bureau / client payroll experience is essential.
* Strong end-to-end UK payroll knowledge and experience managing multiple client payrolls.
* Confident handling complex payroll queries and dealing directly with clients.
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, pensions and compliance.
* IRIS Payroll Professional experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
* CIPP qualified or qualified by experience.
* Strong Excel and payroll systems knowledge.
