This position will play a critical role in ensuring quality is embedded throughout the product introduction process, from early-stage development through to full-scale manufacturing. Working closely with engineering, operations and supply chain teams, you will take ownership of key quality planning and product approval activities, helping to deliver robust, production-ready solutions.

The successful candidate will provide technical guidance to a small quality team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day engineering and quality activities. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges and influencing product quality at every stage of development.

This opportunity offers the chance to take on a highly influential technical role, leading quality activities across innovative new product development programmes while working with advanced manufacturing technologies, complex supply chains and cross-functional engineering teams. In return, you'll join a growing and financially stable organisation that provides excellent long-term career prospects.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership of product quality planning and production approval activities for new and existing programmes.

Lead the application of recognised quality methodologies, including risk assessments, process reviews and control strategies.

Support prototype, pilot and validation builds, ensuring quality requirements are effectively integrated into manufacturing processes.

Act as the primary quality contact within cross-functional project teams, providing technical input and guidance.

Investigate quality concerns, driving root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.

Work closely with suppliers to verify component and material compliance, supporting qualification and performance improvement activities.

Assess potential product and process risks, implementing preventative measures to protect quality and delivery performance.

Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing capability, product consistency and operational efficiency.

Experience/Skills:

HNC, HND or Degree level in an engineering or quality-related discipline.

Demonstrable experience managing quality activities during the introduction of new products.

Strong experience with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)

Strong understanding of structured quality tools and methodologies, including FMEA, SPC, MSA, auditing and corrective action processes.

Previous exposure to electronics, electromechanical products or technically complex assemblies would be highly advantageous.

Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain stakeholders while constructively challenging decisions when necessary.

Experience gained within sectors such as automotive, aerospace, medical technology or other regulated manufacturing industries.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

If you are an accomplished Quality Engineer seeking a position that combines technical leadership, new product development and hands-on problem solving, we'd welcome the opportunity to discuss this role with you
