Are you a commercially driven Senior Merchandiser looking for an opportunity where your expertise will genuinely influence business performance and growth?
We're recruiting on behalf of an established and growing premium retail business that is continuing to invest in its people, products and future growth. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Merchandiser to take ownership of planning, forecasting and stock strategy, while playing a key role in driving commercial performance across the business.
You'll join a collaborative and ambitious team where you'll have the autonomy to make decisions, influence strategy and help drive the next phase of growth. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you'll also lead and develop a Merchandise Assistant within a growing merchandising function.
What You'll Be Doing
. Creating and delivering category, assortment and stock plans
. Managing sales, stock and intake forecasts to maximise performance
. Analysing trading performance and identifying opportunities for growth
. Driving performance of key product ranges and best-selling lines to maximise sales and profitability
. Managing promotional activity and markdown strategies
. Maintaining optimal stock availability across key product ranges
. Working closely with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and stock intake
. Overseeing purchase order management and inventory planning
. Collaborating with Product, Design, Finance, Digital and Operations teams
. Leading and developing a Merchandise Assistant
. Producing meaningful analysis to support strategic business decisions
What We're Looking For
. Previous experience as a Merchandiser or Senior Merchandiser
. Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability
. Advanced Excel skills and experience using merchandising systems
. Experience with forecasting, stock planning and inventory management
. Excellent organisational and communication skills
. Confidence influencing stakeholders across multiple departments
. Previous experience managing or mentoring team members
. A proactive, solutions-focused approach
. Experience within retail, e-commerce, lifestyle, homeware, interiors or consumer goods would be advantageous
What's On Offer
. Hybrid working available with 1 day per week from home
. 33 days holiday including Bank Holidays
. Private medical cover
. Discretionary annual bonus
. Generous staff discount on products
. Pension scheme
. Paid volunteering day each year for a charity of your choice
. Genuine influence on commercial and strategic decisions
. Long-term career development opportunities
Why This Role?
This isn't a role where you'll simply report on the numbers. You'll be trusted to influence decisions, challenge thinking, drive performance and help shape the future direction of the product offering.
This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative office environment and is happy to be based in the Gloucester office for the majority of the week, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week.
If you're looking for a position where your expertise will be recognised, your input genuinely valued, and your career can continue to develop within a successful premium retail business, we'd love to hear from you.
