Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading energy company within the biomass sector to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer role for its site in the central belt of Scotland.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer role comes with starting salary of up to £70,000 + private medical + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Principal Mechanical Engineer you will:

Provide mechanical engineering design and technical guidance across our projects, throughout the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through to detailed design and installation support.
Provide engineering technical guidance and support to Operations and Maintenance Teams.
Partner with operational and project development stakeholders and engineering teams, providing technical and specialist support.
Lead of design of modifications to existing plant in collaboration with the Principal Engineer.
Producing Mechanical Engineering documents (equipment specifications, schedules, reports, drawings etc).
Supporting continuous improvements of procedures and processes to drive efficiency and innovation.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
Chartered Engineer Status is highly desirable
An IOSH or NEBOSH certificate is highly desirable
Experience providing technical guidance for steam, HTHW, LTHW and water treatment systems
Experience managing relationships with client teams in a high demand environment
Experience and understanding of fault-finding / root cause analysis
Experience working on the front-end engineering design within Industrial Heat & Power or similar.

A critical thinker, who has the ability to go above and beyond to support business needs.
Able to travel when required for work, sometimes spending multi-days away on site.

Salary between £60,000 - £70,000
