Our client is a well-established Building Services consultancy delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their London office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical design engineer looking to take on greater responsibility within a collaborative and technically focused environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects from concept through to completion. They will work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams to develop high-quality, efficient, and sustainable engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and specification of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, public health, domestic water, drainage, and low-carbon technologies.
Produce engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and detailed design documentation.
Undertake heating, cooling, ventilation, and energy calculations using industry-standard software.
Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
Attend client and project meetings, providing technical expertise throughout all project stages.
Manage project deliverables, programmes, and resources to ensure successful project outcomes.
Review and oversee design outputs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians within the team.
Contribute to the development of sustainable and energy-efficient building solutions.Candidate Requirements

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years' experience within a Building Services consultancy environment.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services design.
Experience working on projects within sectors such as commercial, residential, healthcare, education, or mixed-use developments.
Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, British Standards, CIBSE guidance, and sustainability requirements.
Proficiency with industry software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, IES VE, Hevacomp, or similar.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Chartered status, or a desire to work towards chartership, would be advantageous.What's on Offer
