Senior Mechanical Engineer
£500 per day | Inside IR35 | Umbrella
12 weeks initially | 35 hours per week | London
Are you a Mechanical Engineering Manager with strong experience across building services and commercial property?
Have you managed mechanical compliance, contractors and projects across a large and varied property portfolio?
I'm currently working on a Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager opportunity within a London local authority, reporting directly to the Head of Technical Services.
The role will lead a team of 6 mechanical engineers, responsible for delivering compliance, repairs and projects across a corporate and leisure estate of approximately 250 buildings.
The role:
·Lead and manage a team of 6 mechanical engineers
·Act as the Mechanical Engineering Lead for Technical Services
·Take responsibility for Legionella management
·Oversee PPM, compliance and day-to-day mechanical repairs
·Manage an annual programme of around 40-60 small projects, with a combined value of £3-4m
·Manage contractors and external contracts
·Provide technical troubleshooting and engineering expertise across a diverse property portfolio
·Work across a range of mechanical building services within corporate and commercial properties
What they're looking for:
·Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely relevant subject - essential
·Extensive experience within construction / building services
·Strong mechanical engineering experience across a commercial/corporate property portfolio
·Experience managing teams, contractors and contracts
·Strong understanding of mechanical compliance and building services
·Experience with Legionella management would be highly relevant
·Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues across a varied estate
Location: 160 Whitechapel Road, London, E1
Working pattern: 2 days in the Town Hall, with 3 days at site meetings or working from home
Duration: 12 weeks
Hours: 35 per week
Rate: £500 per day Limited/Umbrella, Inside IR35
