gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work at their facility based near Runcorn
Performance Objectives
The post holder is responsible for developing and managing the plant and associated supply chain to deliver new and improved capabilities/processes, reliability and capacity, whilst ensuring 100% compliance with all SHE and engineering standards.
Responsible Mechanical Engineer for all relevant assets to ensure operation in full compliance with internal company and external statutory safety and engineering standards.
Responsible for the third party supply of components and assemblies, including managing supplier quality and processes to ensure they meet business needs.
Deliver the Capital Project plan and contribute to the development of the future growth strategy for the manufacturing and supply chain assets.
Develop, assess and test aspects of in-house electrolyser technology to improve quality and performance and reduce cost.
Support the engineering work for customer projects, ensuring timely delivery to specification.Person Specification
Degree qualified Chartered Engineer with a strong mechanical and materials engineering background.
Significant experience in engineering manufacturing/fabrication and workshop engineering equipment and processes, with gravitas and technical rigour.
Experience in working with pipework and pressure systems and the requirements of PED/PER and PSSR.
Analytical and problem solving such as FMEA, 5 Why, 8D.
Strong leadership skills.
Experience in Quality Management systems such as ISO 9001:2015.
Experience with PUWER, LOLER, CE marking requirements and Machinery Directive.
Good project management skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
