Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Industry: Special Purpose Machinery
Salary: £45k–£50k (depending on experience)
Location: South Bedfordshire
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established and growing machinery manufacturer. The business designs specialist machinery and manufacturing solutions, offering the opportunity to take projects from concept through to detailed design and manufacture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop mechanical designs for bespoke machinery and equipment
* Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models
* Manage projects throughout the full product life cycle
* Work closely with manufacturing, production and project teams
* Support new equipment development and wider engineering projects
Key Skills & Experience:
* Experienced in developing bespoke machinery
* Strong 3D CAD skills
* Experience in developing capital equipment, conveyors or special purpose machinery
* Experience with machining, fabrication, or other production processes
* Hands-on engineering skills, including prototyping, assembly, and fault finding
* Ability to produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
