We are excited to announce that we have a superb opportunity to join Cumming Europe, in the role of Senior Marketing Manager in our London or Manchester Office, focused on bids and new business pursuits.

The Senior Marketing Manager, New Business, works closely with Cumming Group consultants to support a broad range of marketing activities to win new business through bids, RFPs, frameworks, interviews and pitches.

You will be a key member of the marketing team as we grow and expand as a business across Europe, working closely with consultants and sector leads, as well as the rest of the marketing team in Europe. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, UK & Europe, but also working with the Director of Growth, you will collaborate to produce amazing collateral, compelling project case studies, impactful client presentations, and more, and in the process improve our win rate and spot new business opportunities.

As part of the wider marketing team you will also be asked to help with relevant events, brand asset updates and internal communications, as required.

This role will be based in our London or Manchester Office, with regular trips to other UK locations. You will focus on Real Estate sector business opportunities across UK and Europe, plus cross-selling opportunities with existing clients, working with project leads. You will work closely with marketing and bid colleagues, and a colleague currently being hired into an equivalent role who will focus on Infrastructure and new sectors.

The role of a Senior Marketing Manager includes the following responsibilities:

- Work collaboratively with marketing operations and consultants to lead the proposal process, including scheduling, tracking and planning

- Working closely with the Bid Coordinators/Managers to ensure all requirements for final bid submission are met

- Prepare customised collateral and SOQs as required throughout the sales process for each opportunity

- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Marketing, Director of Growth and business leaders to develop strategic plans to deliver against company goals

- Participate in regular meetings and play an active role in the development of plans to win major new client or project pursuits

- Creation of customised collateral and statements of qualifications (SOQs), proposal development, interview coaching and preparation support, information collection and organization, and consultant team support

- Help ensure bid activity is tracked in the CRM or shared tracking system

- Prepare customised collateral and SOQs as required throughout the sales process for each opportunity

- Work with the operations and business development teams to prepare client presentations including presentation slide decks, rehearsal/coaching, and graphics/leave behinds

- Participate in client debriefs around lost pursuits, identify lessons learned to increase win rates

- Support the collection and input of project, team member, and boilerplate proposal information into the company’s various databases

- Demonstrate leadership, versatility, flexibility, enthusiasm, and creativity while working in an environment with constantly changing priorities and deadlines

- QA/QC materials going into proposals or SOQs

- Proofread and edit drafts of documents created by others for spelling, grammar, clarity of communication, and consistency in formatting

- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all company services, and all materials and information required for proposal submissions

- Perform other duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions and additional duties assigned

The ability to –

- Ability & willingness to travel to different offices across UK & Europe if necessary

- Work with a wide range of stakeholders

- Be highly organised and well managed

Qualifications & Skills:

- 5+ Years marketing and business development experience in the built environment sector, with deep understanding of the bid process

- Built environment knowledge and/or some hospitality, PBSA, BFR or similar ‘beds’ experience

- Knowledge of bids and proposal process within the built environment sector, ideally for QS and/or PM services

- Deep public sector bid experience; worked with both marketing, consultants and sales

- Knowledge of hospitality or residential development projects for construction or related fields

- Broad experience in built environment

- CRM/tracking system experience

- Multiple project management in parallel

- Experience working with CRM and creating performance dashboards. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics particularly valuable

- Broad IT skills with an eye for design and an impactful presentation, including Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Indesign and Photoshop

- Good written English, the ability to summarise and explain longer technical proposals (additional languages a definite advantage)

- Marketing experience and understanding an advantage, including campaign strategy and event management

The interview process will be run in three stages:

- Shortlisted candidates will meet relevant bid coordinator/manager and senior marketing director for deeper dive on experience and background

- Meet broader marketing team and Growth Director

- Task/presentation from a provided brief (approx. 2-3 hours preparation) & final Q&A
