We're looking for a Senior Licensing Officer to work for our client.
 
Ou r Client is seeking for a dynamic and motivated Senior Licensing Officer to join their team for a six-month period.
This role is crucial in the preparation of our new Gambling Policy, requiring an experienced individual in writing licensing policies and procedures.

Please note: This is initially a temporary role with the potential to become permanent. You’ll need to work weekends and shifts during unsociable hours. Full details will be revealed at the interview.

Responsibilities:

Local Area Profile Creation: Develop a comprehensive Local Area Profile, incorporating various factors, data, and information held by the City of London on its local landscape.

Stakeholder Engagement: Engage proactively with responsible authorities and other stakeholders to map local risks.

Policy Review and Alignment: Review and align the City’s existing Gambling Policy with the new Local Area Profile, recent legislative changes, and the City’s new Corporate Plan.

Policy Consultation: Conduct a formal consultation on policy changes, involving residents, licence holders, members, industry representatives, and other interested parties.

Consultation Analysis: Review responses from the consultation and recommend appropriate changes to the gambling policy.

Policy Assistance: Assist the Licensing Manager in reviewing other policies, including the City’s Al-Fresco Dining policy and Street Trading policy.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

Legislation Knowledge: Sound knowledge of the Gambling Act 2005 and preferably the Licensing Act 2003, Business and Planning Act 2020, and some knowledge of street trading legislation.

Policy Writing Experience: Proven experience in writing local authority policies and procedures.

Communication Skills: Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

IT Proficiency: IT literate with working knowledge of MS Office Suite, GIS, and case management software.

Deadline Management: Ability to work to very strict deadlines are essential.

Working Pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day, flexible between 8 am and 6 pm.
Compensation: £30.30 Basic PAYE
