Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel - Contentious Construction

Contract Type: 12 Month FTC

Salary - up to £90,000

Our client, a leading FTSE listed organisation in the construction and development sector, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their dynamic Group Legal and Compliance team. As a valuable member of this team, you will provide expert advert in relation to complex construction and commercial litigation matters.

Responsibilities:

Take overall responsibility for advising on contentious legal matters, either independently or in collaboration with the Group Legal team and external lawyers.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the organisation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Monitor and manage external legal spend, identifying opportunities to enhance value from existing law firm relationships.
Report regularly on key activities and progress of matters.
Participate in knowledge sharing within the Group Legal team and other relevant departments.
Providing supervision, coaching, and mentorship to junior members in the team. Requirements:

Minimum of 7 years' PQE.
Senior Commercial or Construction Litigation background, with experience in litigious negotiation and settlement activities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and meet deadlines.
Excellent organisational, management, communication and negotiation skills.
Ideally, previous experience in-house for a large corporation or a senior litigation position within private practice.
Prior experience in the construction / development sector is advantageous. In addition to a competitive salary, our client offers:
