On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Senior Java Developer for an initial 6 Month contract based in London with remote work available.

Purpose of the Role:

As a Senior Java Developer you will join a team that maintains and enhances a globally distributed referential data system platform that is based on Oracle Coherence, its used globally by many applications within the Global Markets domain and consumes referential data from a variety of internal sources.

Responsibilities of the role:

As a Senior Java Developer you will be responsible for:

Developing new enhancements as requested by stakeholders. Enhancements can be in the form of new/improved functionality, reacting to audit points, regulatory requirements, or non-functional improvements related to capacity, redundancy and performance.
Act as technical lead for Java applications developed within the team, help define and govern development best practices.
Share skills and technical expertise with other team members.
Enhance continuous integration and performance testing frameworks.
Provide architectural guidance and governance for the development and expansion of the platforms developed.
Ensure optimal performance and capacity monitoring of production systems.
Enhance/bug fix existing software and provide new functionality as requested by the business or internal IT teams.
Produce high quality code with supporting commentary and system documentation.
Ensure all development adheres to the defined architectural and development standards (TDD etc.)
Conduct peer/code reviews.
Provide 3rd line support as required.

What we require from the candidate:

Expert level Core Java knowledge, strong test driven Java programming skills.
Proven experience of the software development life cycle.
Experience in developing distributed real-time systems.
Experience in the development, performance tuning and monitoring distributed in-memory caching/processing systems.
Experience with Oracle Coherence, GridGain or GemFire.
Willingness to lean AngularJS + ASP.NET
