About us

JJM Networks is a Carlisle-based managed service provider delivering IT support, infrastructure and project work to businesses across Cumbria and beyond. We're growing, and this newly created role is a direct result. It's an exciting time to join: as the business expands, so will the opportunities for the people in it, with real scope for this role to grow into leading projects and the technical team.

The team

We're a small team of five. You'll report to our Technical Director and work alongside two technicians and our Finance Manager. As an experienced engineer, you'll help shape how we plan and deliver projects, and set the standard for the rest of the team.

The role

This is a senior, hands-on role split between the office and client sites. You'll take projects from first site survey through to go-live, while also supporting clients day to day. We're looking for someone with a sharp eye for detail who works independently, spots what needs doing, and gets it right first time.

What you'll be doing

Carrying out site surveys, equipment setup and project go-lives at client premises
Delivering infrastructure and migration projects from start to finish
Supporting clients remotely from the office and on site
Keeping documentation and project checklists accurate and up to date
Developing and optimising workflows and processes to improve how we deliver for clients

What we need from you

At least 5 years in an IT support, IT solutions or IT projects role
A proven, evidenced record of delivering projects end to end, from site survey and planning through to go-live and handover
A high level of attention to detail – this is essential
Strong infrastructure skills
Excellent Microsoft 365 knowledge
Solid experience with Windows Server, networking and firewalls
The ability to manage your own workload accurately without close supervision
A full UK driving licence

It would be great if you also have

IT security experience
Structured cabling experience

What you'll get

A newly created role in a growing business, with room to progress as we expand
Paid certifications and training, and genuine support to develop your career
Discretionary annual bonus based on performance
Use of a company vehicle for travel to client sites during working hours
28 days' holiday, including bank holidays
Workplace pension
Paid overtime or time off in lieu (your choice) for occasional out-of-hours work
Varied work and real responsibility in a small, supportive team
