Purpose Of The Role:
​This role is for a Senior Ink Manufacturing Engineer leading the development of ink manufacturing processes and equipment to support our ongoing developments in fuel cells technologies. There will be a requirement to assist in day-to-day ink manufacturing at the Horsham site to support innovation of our product. This role will also support the transfer of technical information, development, installation and commissioning of new processes and equipment internally and at partner sites.

​The successful candidate will be an experienced manufacturing or process engineer, ideally with a sound chemical understanding and very comfortable in using the modern manufacturing toolbox, such as the methodologies of 6σ, Lean manufacturing and root cause analysis.
 
You should also be a strong problem solver, able to experiment effectively, analyse and draw conclusions from data and put observations into context. A good knowledge of ink formulations, dispersions and relevant analytical techniques would be beneficial.

Key Accountabilities:

Lead role in technology transfer to manufacturing licensees’
Support and coordinate business critical issues related to ink manufacture using recognised techniques such as 8D toolbox and DoE
Implement continuous improvements to processes related to ink manufacture
Develop and implement advanced quality control processes to extend understanding of current and future formulations
Provide technical support and training of partner manufacturing personnel
Work with stakeholders to develop and support delivery of volume manufacturing solutions
Support and lead work packages within new product introduction programs
Provide support for manufacturing operations internally at our UK sites ​
Knowledge And Skills Required For The Role:

MSc/BEng/Meng or PhD in Chemical/Process engineering or Chemistry with manf. experience
Familiar with process capability methods
A clear communicator at all levels with the ability to challenge and influence cross-functionally
Experience in technology transfer
Ideally industrial process expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Ink formulation
Scale up of chemical processes from lab/pilot to industrial
Milling techniques (ball-milling, vibro-milling, triple roll milling, others).
Ceramics processing Experience with relevant characterisation techniques (rheology, particle size analysis, XRD, SEM etc…)
Project management experience
Ability to think creatively and pursue opportunities for innovation
Willing to travel abroad when required
Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
