We’re supporting an established business in appointing a highly capable Senior HVAC Controls Engineer to take ownership of full project delivery across commercial, healthcare and facilities environments.

This Senior HVAC Controls Engineer position is a hands-on, lead-level role suited to someone who combines deep BMS expertise with full project ownership.

The RoleAs a Senior HVAC Controls Engineer, you will lead BMS / Energy Management projects from concept through to completion, ensuring both technical and commercial success.

This Senior HVAC Controls Engineer role is primarily office-based with regular site visits and client interaction—ideal for someone equally comfortable on the tools and in front of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Survey, scope and design EnMS / BMS controls projects
Lead full lifecycle delivery as a Senior HVAC Controls Engineer
Diagnose and resolve system faults and inefficiencies
Optimise HVAC plant performance using trend data
Commission and test BMS systems
Produce technical documentation and handover packs
Manage subcontractors and site coordination
Liaise with FM teams, contractors and end users
Control project costs and variations
Maintain H&S standards (RAMS, permits, safe systems)Strict Essential RequirementsTo be successful as a Senior HVAC Controls Engineer, you must meet ALL of the below:

5 years’ experience as an HVAC Controls Engineer / BMS Engineer
Proven expertise with:
Trend IQ Series
Tridium Niagara 4 (certified)
Strong HVAC controls and energy optimisation knowledge
Experience delivering full lifecycle projects (survey → handover)
Strong commissioning, fault-finding and optimisation skills
Experience working in live operational environments
Excellent communication skills (technical & client-facing)
Ability to work autonomously as a Senior HVAC Controls Engineer
Electrical qualifications (C&G 2360 / BS 7671 / Safe Isolation)Desirable
SMSTS or equivalent
PRINCE2 or similar methodology
NVQ Level 6/7 (Construction or Engineering Management)What’s On Offer
