£35ph - £55ph inside IR35/40hr week
6 Month contract

The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Senior HV Plant Engineer to join a market leading design, engineering and project management client, to be based out of either Birmingham or Glasgow.

Job Overview:

As the Senior HV Plant Engineer, You will be working in a senior position within our Power Networks team. You will have a strong attention to detail and enjoy ensuring high quality delivery of FEED and detailed design deliverables.

Building strong and trusted relationships is a key part of this role. You'll enjoy working with others, sometimes directly at client sites, sometimes from our offices. You'll be client focused - being able interface with clients, understand their needs and convert opportunities into successful workstreams.

Some of your duties will include:

Providing Leadership on the FEED and detail design workstream for National Grid
Acting as BP141/equivalent assurance engineer where required.
Reviewing the HV plant aspects of different projects including HV layouts, earthing design and reports, mechanical interlocking, HV busbar calculations and technical specification for the HV plant equipment.
Coordination with back-office engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers as required.
Attending and chairing design review and Hazard review meetings and reviewing HV plant design packages as required.

What do you need to succeed?

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience.
Strong understanding and leadership of the engineering projects through asset lifecycles.
Track record of leading teams in the delivery of Front-End Engineering and design or Detailed design of EHV (132kV upwards) substation projects.
Experience of working for a client organisation such as transmission system owner/operator, distribution network operator or a design consultancy delivering to such organisation.
Eligible for BPSS clearance
