Job Title: Senior HR Advisor
Location: Oxford OX4 and travel to Buckinghamshire site
Hours: 37.5 per week Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm

What you’ll be responsible for:
The Senior HR Advisor will provide a customer-focussed, high quality, responsive and comprehensive Human Resources advisory service for the Trust, advising on terms and conditions, HR policies and all matters relating to the employment of staff. The post holder will support the implementation of organisational change, policies and other workforce initiatives to enable the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.
* Providing expert advice and guidance on aspects of employment law and best practice; including the management of a defined Employee Relations case load, enabling managers to understand their duties and to make informed decisions on HR issues
* Provides professional advice and guidance to managers on all HR Policies, working with them in taking action as appropriate, ensuring a consistent approach across other areas of the Trust to ensure fair application of Policy, aligning with a wider framework of embedding a “just and learning culture”
* Leads on and manages a defined ER Caseload by undertaking investigations, hearings (and where appropriate Appeals and Employment Tribunals) with line managers, providing support and guidance during investigations ensuring that agreed Trust procedures are adhered to and provide support to HR Officers across the department on case work, including; grievance and dignity at work, performance and conduct, sickness absence/capability & redeployment
* Provide advice to employees on all aspects of Trust policy, procedure and terms and conditions of employment.
* Supporting the HR Team in providing advice, support and facilitation to ensure that the Trust is able to develop and deliver a People & OD Strategy that responds to identified service needs and to national and local performance targets
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
* NHS experience (highly desirable)
* Significant demonstrable experience of Human Resources issues in a large complex organisation including sickness absence management, employment law and performance management issues, and intricate / multi-faceted employee relations issues.
* Previous experience of working within an organisation with formal Trade Union recognition.
* Proven knowledge of Equality and associated legislation.
* Educated to Postgraduate level (PGDiploma in HR Management/development) or knowledge & equivalent experience.
