HR with a difference' - The HR Dept provides outsourced HR support to a range of businesses throughout the UK. Our clients operate in various business sectors including manufacturing, financial services, hospitality, technology, property, professional services and not for profit. We offer a full HR service offering with a major focus on employee relations issues (disciplines, grievances, redundancies), performance management, recruitment, training, and development.

Purpose of the role:

The HR Advisor is the first point of contact for HR Dept clients. You will be responsible for providing high quality and commercial HR advice and support to clients and navigating through HR processes to provide solutions to people problems. You will also be responsible for undertaking client project work as required.

Main responsibilities:

HR Service Delivery:

First point of contact for the HR Advice Line service, ensuring accurate, timely and commercial HR advice and support for clients.

Providing advice to clients on all aspects of HR, particularly employee relations matters, over the telephone and via email.

Advising and managing on behalf of clients disciplinary issues, employee grievances, performance management, redundancies and TUPE

Creating and issuing documents that supports the specialist advice provided to clients.

Delivering project work including staff surveys, salary benchmarking and managing client appraisals

Providing HR administrative support to clients.

Attending formal meetings on behalf of clients.

Supporting and delivering training to clients, helping to develop and prepare training materials.

Creating and updating client policies, procedures, and handbooks to ensure compliance with employment law and good HR practice.

Business Relations and Development:

Identifying new business opportunities with existing clients (such as recruitment, additional project or site work, pulse, and staff surveys).

Attending new client meetings and delivering the new client onboarding process.

Support the Trainee HR Advisors as appropriate.

Who are we looking for?

Our people are exceptional HR & Recruitment professionals, with expert employment law knowledge. They also demonstrate a high degree of commercial awareness and an understanding of how HR fits with our client’s commercial needs.

Strong ability and experience in managing all ER complex casework

Experience of casework management: disciplinary, grievance, performance, attendance, and well-being, conduct and general managing performance.

Up to date employment law knowledge, practical application on case management and ability to apply and implement process and policy change.

Solid understanding and experience in applying employee relations and employment practices in order to manage employee issues.

An understanding and application of insight and data to implement change and monitor performance.

Commercially aware of small business needs is desirable

Qualifications

Graduate Calibre

CIPD qualified or equivalent experience

Skills

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to a wide range of audiences and across organisational boundaries and levels.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse decisions that will impact on people and HR policy.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail skills.

Ability to organise own workload to meet targets and deadlines.

Strong IT skills using Microsoft packages or equivalent

Location and Working Hours:

Please note: This role is office based in Swindon

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
