Position: Senior Highway Engineer
Location: Preston, PR1 8RE
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Pay Rate: PAYE: £ 206.78 Per day

Job Responsibilities
Provide technical support and expertise on highway engineering projects.
Design, review and assess highway engineering schemes.
Ensure work complies with relevant legislation, standards and local authority requirements.
Prepare and review technical reports, drawings and project documentation.
Liaise with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders.
Monitor project progress and provide technical advice to support delivery.
Assist with resolving engineering and design issues as they arise.
Person Specification
Must-Have Requirements
Proven experience in highway engineering.
Strong technical knowledge of highway design and engineering standards.
Ability to prepare and review technical documentation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Eligible to work in the UK.
Successful interview and CV assessment.
Satisfactory references covering the last two years, including verification of any employment gaps.
Valid National Insurance number.
All required licences, qualifications and professional registrations verified before appointment.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
Previous experience working within a local authority environment.
Experience managing or supporting multiple highway projects.
Knowledge of Lancashire County Council procedures and standards.
