Job Title: Senior HGV / Plant Fitter
Location: East / West Midlands
Pay Rate: £18.00 – £21.00 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (10 hours/day)
Position: Full-Time, Permanent (Workshop-based with mobile van supplied)

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior HGV / Plant Fitter to join our close-knit workshop team of four.
In this pivotal role, you will take lead responsibility for scheduling and executing regular inspections, MOT preparations, and routine servicing across our varied fleet. The position is predominantly workshop-based, but you will also handle mobile field repairs using a company-supplied van when needed.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee and schedule HGV inspections, MOT preparations, and servicing schedules.

Maintain, repair, and fault-find a modern fleet of Scania tippers, road sweepers, low loaders, light commercial vehicles, and associated construction plant.

Balance workshop duties with mobile field service work as required.
*
Maintain clean, safe, and accurate documentation/service records for compliance.
*
Work collaboratively within a small workshop team to minimize vehicle downtime.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / Plant Fitter (Senior level background preferred).
*
Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills across heavy commercial vehicles (Scania experience is a plus) and heavy plant machinery.
*
Practical knowledge of DVSA inspection standards and compliance scheduling.
*
Full UK Driving License (HGV Class 1 or Class 2 license is advantageous).
*
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of prioritizing workshop tasks.
