Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location: London
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
An established engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their London team. This role would suit an experienced geotechnical engineer with 5+ years' experience who is working towards or close to achieving Chartered status.
The position offers the opportunity to work across a varied range of geotechnical projects, taking responsibility for technical delivery while developing your project management and client-facing experience.
The Role
Deliver geotechnical projects from ground investigation through to design and construction.
Plan and manage ground investigations, including reviewing factual information and producing interpretative reports.
Undertake geotechnical analysis and design for a range of development and infrastructure projects.
Prepare technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
Carry out geotechnical assessments including slope stability, retaining structures, foundations and earthworks.
Work closely with structural, civil and environmental engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
Liaise with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
Assist with project management, including programmes, budgets and resources.
Provide technical support and mentoring to junior engineers.
Contribute to business development and the development of client relationships.
About You
5+ years' experience in geotechnical engineering.
Working towards or close to achieving Chartered Engineer status.
Strong experience in UK ground conditions and geotechnical design.
Experience across ground investigation and interpretative reporting.
Good knowledge of relevant UK standards and design guidance.
Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
Commercially aware with the ability to work directly with clients.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
