Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer
Location: Exeter
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Are you an experienced Geotechnical Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career with a well-established consultancy?
A growing engineering consultancy in Exeter is looking to appoint a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure, commercial, residential and industrial projects. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within a collaborative team, leading projects, mentoring junior engineers and delivering technically challenging geotechnical solutions.
The Role
Deliver geotechnical design solutions for a wide range of projects.
Undertake foundation, retaining wall, slope stability and earthworks design.
Interpret ground investigation data and produce geotechnical design reports.
Carry out geotechnical calculations and numerical analysis.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
Manage projects from initial design through to completion.
Liaise directly with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
Attend project meetings and provide technical input throughout project delivery.
Support business development and contribute to winning new work.
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
Significant consultancy experience within geotechnical design.
Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and current UK design standards.
Experience designing foundations, retaining structures, slopes and earthworks.
Proficient with geotechnical design software.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
Chartered status (or working towards Chartership) is desirable.
Full UK driving licence.
