Senior FM Electrical Engineer

Description:

Our client, based in central Manchester, require a Principal Electrical Engineer from the Building Services/FM sector, to oversee electrical service contracts and handover of capital projects.

It's working for the Facilities Division of a Multi-site organisation who we have dealt with for the last 20 years.

This is a permanent role and will pay between £47,000 - £54,395 p.a with excellent benefits, including 19% pension contribution + 35 days Holidays + Bank Holidays.

In summary, this position would suit someone who has worked in a FM/Building Services role who has solid electrical engineering knowledge (ideally degree qualified) & who has experience of handing over of capital projects, contractor management & management of electrical service contracts/SLAs.

Duties will include:

* Organising contractor site inspections and managing contractors to maintain compliance and SLAs.
* Assist head of department in strategic & operational maintenance of site, including provision of surveys, project management and responsibility for updating electrical systems design guides and standard requirement documents.
* Ensuring electrical records, reports, design and installation specifications are maintained in line with current legislation & industry standards.
* Oversee reactive works whilst making sure all compliance and legal provisions are met.
* Looking after Electrical Risk Assessments, Method statements & organising Safe systems of working/Permits to work.
* Overseeing management of equipment on site including fire alarms, access control, emergency lighting, HV/LV equipment & communication systems.
* Able to produce monthly reports related to ongoing compliance.
* Identify risk areas and monitor to improve electrical department performance.

Desired Educational Requirements:

* Chartered Engineer or Degree level qualification Electrical Engineering, building services or equivalent discipline.
* IOSH or NEBOSH certification (desirable)
