Our vast direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, comprising of 17 depots nationwide, enables us to make over 10,400 daily deliveries of our own chilled and frozen produce and that of third parties.
We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to manage a team of 6 Financial Accountants in the Shared Service Centre, to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements, as well as establishing and maintaining effective control environments

Role Purpose:

To manage a team of 6 Financial Accountants in the Shared Service Centre, to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial statements, as well as establishing and maintaining effective control environments

Key Accountabilities:

Manage a team of Financial and Assistant Financial Accountants to provide accurate and timely consolidated reporting of manufacturing sites and Group entities serviced by the Financial Shared Service Centre, ensuring accounts are produced in line with relevant accounting standards and group policy
Oversee production of a standardised set of key reports to highlight key variances to stakeholders, for example, Profit and Loss reports
Ensure team members have robust GWG goals and development plans
Establish and maintain an internal controls environment and ensure outputs required for external audit are comprehensive and delivered on time
Ensure all government returns are accurate and submitted on time with clear, auditable documentation. Also compile annual corporation tax computation for submission to Group Tax function
Maintain accurate process notes for all key tasks and ensure appropriate cross team cover
Approve key forecast and budget inputs ensuring forecasts are loaded into BPC system as provided
Manage the Financial Accountants to maintain and reconcile Fixed Asset registers. Monitor capital spend against budget / forecast to ensure spend is within agreed limits and exceptions are escalated
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Finance system management and internal control
Knowledge of accounting standards
Effective communication skills within team and wider business
Knowledge of corporation tax and VAT accounting rules
Intermediate Excel skills
Team management experience preferable
