Description:
We’re looking for a Senior Finance Officer to join us at Ysgol Bryn Elian, a co-educational school in Old Colwyn. Along with a salary of up to £37,336 per annum, you will also receive approximately 21% employer contributions into a pension scheme (when you contribute) and a medical cash-plan.
You will manage the day-to-day finance function of the school inline with our finance and business procedures, as well as supporting the School Business Leader by providing accurate and timely information and reporting.
As Senior Finance Officer at Ysgol Bryn Elian, your responsibilities will include:
* The daily operation of the school’s financial software (SAGE) and associated processes including purchase ledger, reconciliation and invoicing.
* Managing and operating the ‘school fund’ bank account including monthly reconciliation and year-end processes.
* Managing and reconciling the school’s ‘WisePay’ system for school trips including providing financial information and support to trip leaders.
* Arranging staff cover on a daily basis (including rerooming).
* Managing the school’s office team including their professional development.
* Ensuring the schools HR software is updated on a daily basis.
* Undertaking risk assessments as required, including visitor risk assessments.
* Overseeing the school’s first aid provision including arranging training courses.
* Ensuring medical care-plans are up to date.
At Ysgol Bryn Elian, we’re looking for a Senior Finance Officer with:
* 5 GCSEs Grade A-C (or equivalent) to include maths & English
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Previous line management experience
* Experience using a computerised accounting package
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
* Understanding of safeguarding issues and promoting the welfare of children and young people
This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week.
