Position Description
We're looking for a number of Senior Finance Business Partners & Business Case Cost Modellers to support a major new critical communications system programme win within our busy Central Government Business Unit. This post will involve travel to London and/or Bristol 2/3 days a week with occasional overnight stays. The cost of this travel will be met by the business. All applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) to Security Check (SC) and NPPV3 level.

Your future duties and responsibilities
You will support and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, external stakeholders and most importantly the Programme lead, who is responsible for delivering the programme. Youll use strong financial modelling experience to develop a strong understanding of the wider financial implications of the different programme options, as well as providing strategic commercial finance support and ensuring integration with the financial plans of the department. You will lead on the development and maintenance of the programmes complex suite of cost models. In addition, you will lead on commercial finance support, including Should Cost Modelling; financial stability reviews; bid assessments; supplier quarterly financial reviews; input on supplier negotiations; Managing Public Money advice and compliance; and value for money assessments.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Essential Criteria:
Strong financial skills (Qualified Accountant)
Excellent track record of cost modelling large programmes and strong financial modelling experience
Strategic stakeholder management skills, and capacity to work collaboratively within a multi-stakeholder environment, developing successful relationships between own team and other areas.
Proven experience of cost and schedule risk analysis and scenario analysis
Advanced excel

Strategic financial leadership
Experience of leading a team in a fast paced environment.
Excellent communication and networking skills
Excellent organisational skills and be able to deliver at pace
Drafting of submissions to ensure they reflect financial impact and risks
Maintenance of key assurance processes including Risk Registers and Issues Logs
Internal and external reporting, including board reporting
Willingness to gain knowledge of HM Treasurys Green Book; Aqua Book; Managing Public Money; Consolidated Budgeting Guidance; Government Financial Reporting Manual (FReM) and International Financial Reporting Standards
VBA level excel
