Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a Regional Facilities Manager on behalf of Network Rail.

The Opportunity

This will be a demanding, but rewarding role, ideally suited to someone that wants the opportunity to work with a high level of autonomy, and influence. You will have the ability to improve the day-to-day experience of your colleagues, and the literal millions of passenger journeys across your region per year.

Location (s):

York

Working Practices:

35 hours a week, Monday-Friday.

Hybrid working – 2-3 days from home, the rest of the time will be based at York office.

Role and Responsibilities:

Ensure the regular maintenance and efficient upkeep of the workplace environment and all facilities under your route/region.
Work with all colleagues and stakeholders within your region to ensure that all facilities/buildings within your region are maintained to company standards and requirements.
Efficient management of income expenditure budget to ensure that all necessary repair works and actions can be carried out.
Review and investigate key data and performance indicators across the whole route/region and be able to report on your findings.
Proactively develop and maintain strong positive relationships across the wider business, to encourage and help develop better working practices.
Ensure external facilities contracts and works arrangements are being carried out in line with contractual agreements and expectations, flagging and raising any issues that may occur.

The Candidate

This is a dynamic role that will require a proactive and forwards thinking person, that will be able to set clear boundaries and expectations across the whole region/route. A candidate with strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to challenge both internal and external stakeholders. Due to the fact that this role is multi-site, the successful candidate will be able to effectively plan and manage their own work schedule.

Essentials

5-10 years of multi-site Facilities Management experience.
Experience of operating within a large, complex fast-paced environment, such as Retail Management, Commercial Property, Hospital Management, Airports,  Estate Management etc.
Experience managing large FM Contracts.
Some form of H&S qualifications/certifications, such as NEBOSH. Other additional training, such as Legionella Awareness, would be beneficial.
Extensive, demonstrable stakeholder management experience.

Desirable

Professional Qualifications, e.g., Degree in Facilities Management, MRICS, MBIFM, etc
