Senior Façade Design Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 DOE + Benefits

Are you an experienced Façade Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? We are working with a well-established façade specialist delivering high-profile projects across the UK, who are looking to add a Senior Façade Design Engineer to their growing technical team.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of complex façade packages from concept through to completion, working on prestigious residential, commercial, mixed-use and high-rise developments.

The Role

As a Senior Façade Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the technical design and coordination of façade systems, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest quality, programme and commercial standards.

You will work closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors and clients while mentoring junior members of the design team.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and engineering of curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, windows and bespoke façade systems.

Produce detailed design calculations, technical reports and engineering solutions.

Prepare and review fabrication drawings, installation details and design documentation.

Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors and specialist suppliers.

Ensure compliance with current Building Regulations, CWCT guidance and relevant British Standards.

Attend client, design team and site meetings.

Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.

Assist with value engineering and design optimisation.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining programme deadlines.

Requirements

Degree qualified in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

5+ years' experience within façade engineering or façade design.

Strong knowledge of curtain walling, cladding, glazing and building envelope systems.

Experience producing structural calculations and technical design documentation.

Proficient in AutoCAD, with knowledge of Revit desirable.

Experience using structural analysis software such as TEDDS, Robot or similar is advantageous.

Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations and façade performance requirements.

Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Full UK driving licence preferred.
