This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected business delivering a diverse range of rail, civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Scotland. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing competitive and commercially robust tenders, assessing project costs and working closely with pre-construction, commercial and operational teams to support the successful securing of new work. If you have a background in estimating and are looking to develop your career within an established infrastructure business, we would love to hear from you.

As the Estimator, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering, rail and infrastructure projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission.
Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes of work to establish project requirements and identify potential risks.
Producing detailed cost breakdowns covering labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and other project-related expenses.
Obtaining and analysing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
Liaising with commercial, engineering, pre-construction and operational teams to develop suitable construction methodologies and tender strategies.
Identifying commercial risks, value engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures to strengthen tender submissions and improve project profitability.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

Previous experience in an Estimator or similar commercial role within civil engineering, rail, infrastructure or the wider construction sector.
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
A good understanding of construction methods, cost planning, subcontractor procurement and pricing principles.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines.
A commercially focused and proactive approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
What's in it for you?

The opportunity to contribute to a varied portfolio of civil engineering, rail and infrastructure projects across Scotland.
A competitive salary and benefits package, reflective of your experience and expertise.
Excellent opportunities for professional development and long-term career progression within an established and supportive business.
