Senior Estimator | Utilities, Power & Infrastructure

Are you an experienced Estimator looking to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure and energy projects across the UK?

Our client is a leading engineering and infrastructure organisation delivering critical projects across the utilities, power, renewable energy and civil infrastructure sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their expanding commercial team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-value projects, influence bid strategy and contribute to the successful delivery of essential national infrastructure.

The Role

As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of infrastructure and engineering projects from initial tender through to final submission.

Key responsibilities include:

Producing detailed estimates and cost plans for utilities, power and infrastructure projects
Reviewing tender documentation, drawings and specifications
Developing pricing strategies and supporting bid submissions
Liaising with operations, engineering, commercial and procurement teams
Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations
Identifying project risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions
Supporting negotiations and client presentations where required
Maintaining estimating databases and benchmarking information
Contributing to continuous improvement within the estimating function

About You

We are keen to speak with Estimators who have experience within infrastructure, utilities, energy, power, transmission & distribution, civil engineering or related sectors.

You will ideally have:

Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator
Strong understanding of construction, infrastructure or engineering projects
Experience preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
Full UK driving licence

Desirable

Experience within utilities, power, renewable energy or major infrastructure projects
Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction-related qualifications
Knowledge of NEC contracts
