Senior Engineering Geologist - London
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + benefits
An established ground investigation and geotechnical consultancy is looking for a Senior Engineering Geologist to join their growing London team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Engineering Geologist looking to take on greater responsibility across a varied range of ground investigation projects.
The role will involve a strong mix of site-based investigation, technical reporting and project delivery, working across residential, commercial, infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
The Role
Planning and managing ground investigations from initial scope through to completion
Undertaking and supervising site investigations, including boreholes, trial pits and in-situ testing
Logging soils and rocks to industry standards
Producing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports
Reviewing laboratory and field testing results
Developing ground models and providing geotechnical interpretation
Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants
Supporting project management, programming and commercial delivery
Supervising junior engineers and engineering geologists
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard
Requirements
Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related subject
Strong practical experience within ground investigation
Experience producing factual and/or interpretative ground investigation reports
Good understanding of UK ground conditions and investigation techniques
Experience supervising site investigations and working with contractors
Strong technical report-writing and communication skills
A full UK driving licence is desirable
Chartered or working towards chartership would be advantageous
