Description:
The role is focused less on heavy design and more on site-based engineering coordination and permitting. You'll be supporting the delivery of early-stage enabling works like excavations, surveys, and trial trenching.
Key responsibilities:
Managing and issuing permits to dig and ensuring compliance before excavation works begin
Supporting Site Engineers and coordinating closely with Foremen, Works Managers, and subcontractors
Overseeing site documentation, diaries, and progress tracking
Ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance on site
Liaising with utilities, local authorities, and stakeholders
Coordinating logistics, access, and sequencing of work across the supply chain
Supporting planning and tracking of works to keep delivery on scheduleIdeal candidate:
Strong site engineering background (civils / utilities / infrastructure)
Experience with permit systems, excavation works, and temporary works
Good understanding of site coordination rather than pure design
Holds CSCS, ideally Thames Water Passport / Skillsguard
Comfortable working across multiple teams and keeping site documentation audit-ready
Major infrastructure project (White Horse Reservoir) in Abingdon, Oxfordshire
