Senior Site Engineer – Leisure Project
Location: Yeovil
Salary: Excellent basic salary + car allowance + bonus + fully expensed travel + benefits
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary main contractor on a major leisure project in Yeovil.
The company is a privately owned national contractor with a turnover in excess of £700 million, delivering high-quality construction projects for a growing portfolio of blue-chip clients. Widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading specialists in large-scale industrial, logistics and distribution schemes, they have built a strong reputation for technical excellence, repeat business and successful project delivery.
This role would suit a Senior Site Engineer who is confident working out on site, taking responsibility for setting out, quality assurance, concrete testing, excavation levels and technical coordination. You will work closely with the Project Manager and form a key part of the site management team.
The Role
As Senior Site Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
* Setting out and surveying works on site
* Managing QA processes and as-built surveys
* Producing and working to Inspection and Test Plans
* Concrete testing and quality checks
* Providing dig levels for excavation works, including drainage, piling and groundworks
* Acting as drawing coordinator and providing technical support to site teams
* Carrying out GIA surveys
* Reviewing and appraising method statements
* Supporting temporary works management
* Liaising with the client, architect and structural engineer to resolve construction and design issues
* Reporting directly to the Project Manager
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience as a Senior Site Engineer on construction projects
* Strong setting out and QA experience
* Experience working on groundworks, drainage, piling and concrete packages
* Excellent technical knowledge and attention to detail
* Ability to work closely with site teams, project managers and external consultants
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
