Senior Engineer
Basingstoke, Guildford OR Maidstone office/depots.
£45,000 - £50,000
Bonus of up to 7.5% of salary (up to £3750 bonus)
Hybrid working (3-4 days from home a week)
26 days annual leave (plus Bank Holiday) gaining an additional day each year up to a maximum of 31 days

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to deliver works in one of 3 locations (Basingstoke, Guildford OR Maidstone) on behalf of our client, a contractor within the Highways Maintenance & Construction industry!
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for working closely with Scheme Delivery Framework contractors to oversee and execute plans, working on developing improvement schemes such as Road Safety, Flooding & Water Quality and Environmental.
The Senior Engineer will make use of their initiative, and have detailed knowledge of the DMRB and CDM 2015 regulations and processes. The position will also require working unsociable hours on rare occasions.
Responsibilities for Senior Engineer:
Identifying, prepare briefs and support delivery of survey works that support the improvement of assets.
To develop the technical briefs provided to the design and construction contractors for improvement work.
Ensuring the health and safety needs and wellbeing of customers and employees are fully considered and accounted for throughout the planning and delivery of each service activity.
Conducting the development of early solutions for improvement schemes, including the compiling and checking of relevant documents, evidence and options for value management, taking into account new techniques, materials, buildability, and costs.
Monitoring the delivery of agreed early solutions and plans, liaising with the relevant teams to identify and/or rectify issues. Working with the Project Manager team to ensure all financial and programme information is updated and managed in a timely manner.
Education & Knowledge requirements:
Full UK Driving Licence (ESSENTIAL, as you will be doing site visits)
Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highways network
Strong knowledge of degradation modelling and asset condition assessments
Experience in highway infrastructure design
Good knowledge of CDM 2015
(DESIRABLE) A Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and member of a relevant professional Body with appropriate experience.
