Senior Engineer – Groundworks & Civil Engineering
Location: South West
Day Rate: £375 – £450 per day
Sector: Groundworks & Civil Engineering
My client are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to join one of the UK's leading groundworks and civil engineering contractors, working on exciting projects across the South West.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Senior Engineer to take a leading role in delivering major groundworks and civil engineering packages, working alongside an experienced site management team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing engineering activities, managing site engineers and ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with project programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Overseeing and coordinating day-to-day engineering activities on site.
* Managing and supporting Site Engineers and Junior Engineers.
* Carrying out and checking setting out for groundworks and civil engineering packages.
* Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
* Reviewing technical drawings and resolving engineering issues.
* Managing QA documentation, ITPs, inspections and as-built records.
* Liaising with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors and the wider project team.
* Overseeing drainage, foundations, earthworks, reinforced concrete and infrastructure works.
* Monitoring engineering progress against construction programmes.
* Ensuring high standards of health and safety are maintained throughout the project.
Essential Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Senior Engineer or experienced Site Engineer.
- Strong background working for a specialist groundworks or civil engineering contractor.
- Extensive experience with drainage, foundations, earthworks, reinforced concrete and infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of AutoCAD and technical drawings.
- Experience managing and mentoring junior engineers.
- Confident managing QA processes and engineering documentation
